Concept Statement | Part 1

Generating a Concept Statement

What are you currently imagining?

I am exploring how common behaviour can be translated, viewed, and understood in uncommon perspectives. The method for this understanding is intended to be a model that can recognise and capture key focus points in a human action/interaction and convert them into a live dataset, which are then used as data points to control an interactive abstract 3D art piece.

Viewers/users can play around with positions and interaction techniques before the model to discover how it will change in time with said interaction. The system will probably use some kind of MoCap or ML model to capture, recognise, and analyse data points, and use a 3D js library to use those data points to create an abstract art form.

Feedback

What do you imagine someone with that statement will make?

  • Project would be some kind of exhibit, where a room would be set up to use a Kinect or similar mechanism to track body movements

  • Something engaging, where a user can walk into a room and write something on a computer and it will be visualised on the screen

  • A user would be able to save their portion of the art form, since they had a hand in its creation

What is exciting or interesting to you about the statement?

  • Art form should be something mesmerising; something a user can get lost in

  • The different potential of the execution methodology and technology - MoCap or video processing or similar

  • The purpose of the project

What is unclear about the statement?

  • What sort of interaction will drive the project

  • What sort of form the abstract art will contain

  • Practical and technical considerations of the project
