Prototype 3
For this next prototype, I focused on refining the experience of the system by adding interactions, and connecting different gestures, visuals, and sounds.
Testing
Key Observations
The mapping with the arms doesn’t work perfectly. Users instinctively expect something to happen when moving their arms about, going so far as to create connections in their head if nothing is obviously apparent.
The notes got mixed reactions.
More connection between the visuals and sounds is also expected.
Feedback
The circles could be of a single vibrant colour.
The arm movement should be clearer.
The circles can be connected to the sounds.
The jumping is not intuitive to figure out.
A goal for the notes might be helpful — users can try to figure out how to play a song.
Figuring out a setup for demo would help the multiple users issue.
The main three elements — the motion tracking (the lines), the circles, and the notes — should ideally all be interlinked.
